INDIVIDUALS- County of Northumberland: Pathways Education Program

About Us:
The County of Northumberland Pathways Educational Program provides conditional education grants to
eligible residents in recovery from Opioid Use Disorder. By investing in education and career advancement,
the program helps individuals strengthen their recovery while building a path toward long-term employment and self-sufficiency.

What is the Pathways Program?
The Pathways Educational Program provides conditional education grants to support eligible individuals pursuing
higher education and other approved educational opportunities. The program helps remove financial barriers
so eligible residents can pursue education and career advancement opportunities.

75% of your tuition up to $7,500 per semester
Awards are made on a rolling basis, subject to available funding.
Pathways funding is applied to tuition after any other applicable grants, scholarships, or financial assistance.

The Pathways Educational Program combines financial assistance with educational sessions designed to support participants throughout their educational journey.

Who is Eligible?
Applicants must:

Be a resident of Northumberland County
Be currently in recovery from Opioid Use Disorder
Be pursuing an approved educational or career advancement opportunity

Participating Institutions:

Luzerne County Community College (LCCC)
Lackawanna College (LC)
Susquehanna Valley Technical Institute (SVTI)

Eligibility will be determined by the Northumberland County team and confirmed by the program administrator.

Verification of Recovery: Documentation verifying that you are currently in recovery from Opioid Use Disorder. Acceptable documentation includes a letter or verification from a licensed treatment provider, behavioral health professional, recovery support organization, or other qualified professional. To protect your privacy, please provide only the information necessary to verify your eligibility.*

Letter of Recommendation: One professional letter of recommendation from an employer, teacher or professor, counselor, case manager, recovery coach, community leader, or other qualified professional who can speak to your character, commitment, and potential for success.*
